23 June 2007 marked the end of our journey in Project O.. it started out with 12 last year.. but now, only 9 remained.. for me, it never was an easy path.. many a times i felt so much like giving up.. but thankfully, i've got God and such great friends around me to push me on.. people like jeremy, ber, da jie, melissa, ger, val, gwendo.. they've all been so supportive of me.. and not forgetting Project O! u guys were the ones who stood by me for the past 10months.. thank you so much for all the joy, laughter, prayers and encouragements.. oh! and the instructors too! ryan, gin, daniel, carol, e-ching and kenny have all been such an inspiration.. i've learnt so much from each and everyone of them..
mmm.. looking back, its more than just being a better dancer.. the past 10months in project o has taught me how to perservere.. how to prioritize.. how to handle tough situations.. how to overcome my fear.. its more about character building.. and the impartations received from the instructors.. its no long just about the steps.. the choreography.. its about passion.. dancing with soul..
haha. i really cant believe that its actually over.. seemed like just yesterday that i locked myself in the room at 2am.. coming up with a 30sec choreography for project o's audition.. TOMA~ lols. mmm.. was kinda nervous when i started doing my routine in front of kenny, ryan, gin, carol and daniel.. so inevitably, i forgot some steps and just stood still.. stared at them blankly.. hahahahaha.. like that wasnt bad enough.. when it came to learning choreography from gin n ryan.. i totally messed up.. perspired alot while learning gin's hiphop routine.. and my liquid eyeliner smudged like crazy.. thank god that only ah ger saw that ugly sight.. hahaha.. so during our 5min break, i ran to the toilet immediately to wash off my eyeliner.. afterwhich, it was time to showcase what we learnt in groups.. HORRIBLE!! i could hardly rmb the steps.. was looking at terrence most of the time la.. even with him standing behind me.. i kept turning back to see wad step was he doing.. hahahaha. its really by God's grace that i ever made it through the auditions man..
and i rmb.. our 1st class as project o was e-ching's jump and turn.. wah piang.. i died at the warm-up.. hahaha. couldnt do anything right.. felt so clumsy doing jazz.. and at that time.. every1 of us looked like dancing elephants.. only yongzhi had that certain amount of poise and grace.. was kinda amazed actually.. haha.
mmm.. the next most significant event that happened in project o was us, given the opportunity to perform for last year's NDP together with some of CHEC's dancers.. hahaha.. it was all fun.. practiced alot for it.. but on the very day of performance.. i dunno why.. every1 lost count and forgot the routine.. only theresa's group managed to start on time.. but upon seeing the rest of us freestyling.. her group decided to freestyle along as well.. hahahaha. damn funny la.. so many people.. and all buang-ed.. but it was a great n fun experience though =)
oh! our 1st exams.. hahaha. so scarey please.. i did real badly.. tsk. and all of us failed "across the floor" -.- but we were all given another chance to take supp. paper.. hahaha.. so ya.. the supp. paper was alil better than the 1st exam..
mmm.. also, we were given a gig at Toa Payoh last year.. it was project o's 1st paid performance!! was fun.. but we din do all that well though.. however, the pay was quite good.. hur.
then, this year.. we could finally be part of the Easter Production!! it was much fun being animals in the garden of eden.. also, being lil demons in hell scene.. hahahaha. through this, we were officially promoted to dance ministry!! yay~ my goal was finally fulfilled! felt really happy about it.. but its really not easy man.. those late night rehersals and uber early call time was tedious! and also, all that putting on and removing of makeup was a real hassel.. our skins got sooo inflammed by the makeup and wet-wipes.. we were totally dreading the hair and make-up process man..
mmm.. i could go on and on.. but i shall not.. i'll just talk a little on our final exam.. hahaha.. this time round, we had less things to prepare for.. just 1 lyrical jazz routine, 1 hiphop routine and 1 across the floor.. and it was like some free show please.. so many people came to watch us.. 1st it was only ryan and gin.. then daniel, hua, tim, melvyn and kenny all came in to watch as well.. stressed la! hahaha. well, results will only be out next month.. when the instructors return from taiwan emerge.. but somehow i felt that everyone did give our best.. and i'm proud of everyone.. we've finished the race :)) its not gonna be the end.. but it'll be a start of something new.. thanks for running this race together with me guys.. *loves* =D
